At funerals those who are still alive are faced with questions that have been asked for ages. The most important is, "What happens to me when I die?" There have been many suggested answers to this question but Jesus made it very clear when he told a parable about a rich man and a beggar named Lazarus in Luke 16:19–31.
There are two destinations after death. One is a heaven to be desired and the other is a hell to be shunned. If we desire to spend eternity in Heaven then we must answer 2 questions. How? and When?
Again the Bible is very clear. HOW = [Romans 10:9 NASB95] 9 that if you confess with your mouth Jesus [as] Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved;...
WHEN = [2 Corinthians 6:2b NASB95] 2 for He says, "AT THE ACCEPTABLE TIME I LISTENED TO YOU, AND ON THE DAY OF SALVATION I HELPED YOU." Behold, now is "THE ACCEPTABLE TIME," behold, now is "THE DAY OF SALVATION".
