When tragedy strikes

Just a little over a year ago on May 24, 2022, a mass shooting occurred at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas 18-year-old Salvador Ramos, a former student at the school, fatally shot 19 students and two teachers, while 17 others were injured but survived. In the aftermath of the horrific mass shooting at a Texas elementary school the news programs were running nonstop. Even President Biden had a press conference. The church must stand up and help those grieving families. The biggest question on their minds is "Why?" The answer is it happened because we live in a fallen world where things like this, wars, poverty,, sickness and greed exist. We have our ancestors Adam and Eve to thank for that and if the story ended there we would have no hope in this life. However Jesus forewarned his disciples about his upcoming death said this in John 16:22 NASB95 "Therefore you too have grief now; but I will see you again, and your heart will rejoice, and no one [will] take your joy away from you." These families and the Nation as well mourns for these children and teachers but as christians we believe that they are with Jesus in Heaven and that at the rapture of the church they will rise again from the dead as the Apostle Paul wrote in 1 Corinthians 15:52-57 NASB95] 52 in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet; for the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed. 53 For this perishable must put on the imperishable, and this mortal must put on immortality. 54 But when this perishable will have put on the imperishable, and this mortal will have put on immortality, then will come about the saying that is written, "DEATH IS SWALLOWED UP in victory. 55 "O DEATH, WHERE IS YOUR VICTORY? O DEATH, WHERE IS YOUR STING?" 56 The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law; 57 but thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ."
